Finding Casa Visette and its owner was one of the best things that happen to me in 2018. A melange of Italian old architecture and Scandinavian simplicity, Casa Visette is the place which fulfils most of a traveler’s wishes: comfort, location, cleanliness and good food. Add to this a tennis court and a sauna and it is already too good to be true.
But what makes the difference compared to other good places in Piedmont is the owner, Petteri: he understands why people come to Barolo and most important, he has all the right connections to make your stay at Casa Visette an unforgettable one: bike tours covering the most important places of the regions, lunches and dinners in restaurants where finding a table is mission impossible, cooking classes and private tastings with winemakers keen to share their passion with you. I joined the tour he offered in October 2017: all I described above actually happened and then some: the inspired cooking of Casa Visette’s chef, Jessica, the lively discussions we had with winemakers Paolo Scavino and Virna, the dinner at Trattoria della Posta and so on.

If you love wine and if you love Barolo, you mustn’t miss Casa Visette and everything his owner has to offer.

A superb experience in an extraordinary place in the middle of barolo and barbera vineyards. A quality suite with good service and an almost private tennis court. The wine cellar is another story, be aware. Good place to enjoy a wine and sport vacation in the Barolo district. Recommended!

We spent amazing few days with the kids in Piedmont Italy during July 2017. Casa Visette and our host Petteri had a key role for our successful holiday. Casa Visette itself is something extraordinary between the hills full of wine yards. You can even see the peak of Monte Rosa in distance. Everything is well organized, cosy and clean. Especially if you are keen of playing tennis, don’t miss this place. I think they are offering the only tennis court in the region. After playing tennis, one can take a refreshing swim in the infinity pool with amazing scenery or beat out all the sport dust in the typical Finnish sauna. Our host Petteri was ready to organize wine tasting tours, table reservations, barbeque dinners or bike rentals. There is lots of jogging trails leaving right behind the house leading to the medieval village of Monforte d’Alba. Casa Visette is certainly for wine, food and sport lovers. Thanks for your hospitality. See you again!
